  1. I had this exact same issue on my 2020 tracer 900 GT. It happened during a road trip and I had to drive 2500km home with a throttle that stopped working at random times, it wasnt pleasant. The dealership replaced what needed to be replaced and its fine since then. I think this is an issue that all tracer's have had, not sure how common but.. it definitely happened to others. I was very mad and disappointed because it ruined my summer trip and this was a new motorcycle.. I wanted to sell it when i got back home but decided not to, as this can happen with any brand.. it just is what it is, move on and pray im trouble free during my next road trips. One things for sure, if i got issues that 'ruin' my next trip its definitely getting sold.
  2. 2020GT owner here, My chain had the rubbers starting to break here and there around 8000km. I stopped cleaning and only lube, im close to 10.000 and it hasnt gotten worse. I will keep the chain aslong as the dealer thinks its ok. It will go in for its 10.000km service soon.
  3. I had the exact same issue on my 2020 tracer 900gt. zero throttle response and my idle of the engine was at 600-800. It happened during a roadtrip so i was 3000km from home. The issue would happen sometimes (when turning the ignition switch) I managed to get it home. Had it fixed at my dealer where I bought it from and he said it (sorry if i explain it bad english is not my native language) but when u turn your ignition switch, your motorcycle does several tests. My throttle would sometimes not pass that test because the values were off. They adjusted the throttle and it hasnt happened since.
  4. I think it depends alot on where and how u are riding. I have the 2020 tracer 900gt, never experienced any heat issues. I did a trip this summer with the hottest temperatures of 35-43c (95-110F) and when i was in city traffic/red lights and when i was stuck at border control (stop and go traffic for 30+ mins) the heat got quite bad. Aslong as im riding anything over 50km/h there is no issues. But on really hot days with stop and go traffic for a prolonged time, the heat got annoying. But then again.. i dont think a motorcycle excistts that in the scenario i described wouldnt get really hot. You are sitting on top of an engine after alll.
  5. Dont worry about using all 3. I used all 3 and aslong as u keep the weight low in the topcase u wont even notice its there. Its only a concern if you overload it. Keep the heavier stuff in your sidecases and use the topcase for clothes, raingear, gloves maybe some food and thats it. You wont know its there
  6. Yes exactly.. the first few hairpin turns might feel abit uncomfortable but the more u do it gets better. And yes as u say, if u want to practice abit before u go, go to an emtpy parking lot and do tight u-turns without using the clutch and just throttle/rear brake thats what comes closest to what u will do there. Ofc u can use front brake too, just gently. If u really come in hot before a turn u willl have no choice but too use it. But I would say, just relax and have fun it was also a first time for me and I had no courses or experience but things figure themselves out quick aslong as u ride within your comfort zone. And feel how the bike behaves.
  7. I would just say the basics.. dont overload your motorcycle or make it top heavy (if u use a topcase especially) Ride your own ride, at whatever pace is comfortable for you. It was also my first time there and many overtook me which is fine, my priority is to get myself and the motorcycle home in one piece. What worked best in all the tight bends there was to downshift to first before the corner, select a riding line, never stop giving power to the rear wheel and to decide my speed with the rear brake. I found this to give me the most grip. The sensation that the bike wants to fall mainly happens when I was going too slow, stopped giving the rear wheel power. Some corners I had to take really slow because of traffic and once I start having to use my clutch it became alot more difficult for me. Also, its cold on top. I did it early june and downstairs it was 30 and upstairs it was 5 and raining. So keep that in mind. Close your vents and wear an extra layer if needed before u start going up
  8. Ye we will see how it goes, its not an issue I should ever have again (hopefully) I managed to do Germany, switserland (umbrail pass) going to stelvio pass in italy, to croatia/slovenia/bosnia/Montenegro and i encountered the problem there, then I drove home using mainly highways. So i managed to do a good part of the trip but my plan was also to do route des grand alpes but it will be for next year.. if the you know what situation allows it.
  9. No I have never adjusted the throttle cable, I only know how to adjust the clutch cable honestly lol. And the wheel is almost completely out so the next adjustment will need to happen at the other part of the cable. My throttle response hadnt changed since when I picked it up with 0km on it as far as i can tell. If the throttle cable gets more free play it should be seen during maintenances before its a problem or not? it has 8600km now in 6 months which isnt that much, it shouldnt happened in between maintenances I assume? and at 10.000 it will go in for a regular maintenance.
  10. No nothing at all, lets hope it never happens again with what they did
  11. Incase someone is interested, I got the motorcycle back since today. They told me there was a calibration issue with the throttle. The value was off and the sensor picks it up and locks the throttle as a result. That was also the fault code it had. Now everything seems good (so far) but they assured me it would never happen again.
  12. I will keep you guys updated once I hear back from the dealership what ends up being their thoughts and decision It was kind of a bummer it happened during a trip as it ment I couldnt rely on the motorcycle anymore and had to get back home
  13. Thanks for the replies so far. The dealer also thought it was related to the electrical part, they will hook it up to the computer and read the error. But to me (as someone with little technical knowledge) how can the ignition switch make the engine idle at a wrong speed and disable the throttle from working?
  14. Hey everyone, I have owned a 2020 tracer 900gt for 6 months now, bought it new. Put around 3000km on it before I took it on a trip (about 5500km) Before the trip I never had any issues with it. During the trip I encountered an issue where I would turn the key, start the engine and my idle speed would be 600/700 (way too low and it sounds like it would stall at any moment) and at the same time my throttle would do nothing when I twist it. If I keep turning off the key and back on and start the engine eventually the issue would go away (I discovered) I encountered this issue over 10 times while riding back home. When the motorcycle runs fine it stays fine, so it wont happen while riding. The issue only happens when twisting the key and then starting the engine. I can ride for 300km, turn it off for fuel, turn it back on and the problem happens so it doesnt matter if its a cold or hot start. It doesnt happen everytime, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. My check engine light is on, since im back in my country I took it to the dealer now who will take a look at it. But im very curious if any of you guys have had this problem or have an idea of what it could be? Thanks in advance,
