  1. I wonder which mount would work best on a Niken: Fork Stem, Mirror, or Handlebar.
  2. I must admit that it's always disconcerting to see this "Max 130 Km/h" warning on all Niken accessories (top case, saddlebags, screens). Obviously, they won't disintegrate at 131 Km/h. I just wish these things were rated to, at least, 145 Km/h. I hit 80-85 MPH too often to not care.
  3. I suppose my question is about the junction of the that harness/connector. It seems to be clipped into the frame. Can that be pulled out without breaking the clip?
  4. I don't suppose you have those in a bit higher definition, do you?
  5. What I find annoying is that you can't find concrete dimensions for the variety of screens. For example: NIKEN Tall Windscreen BD5-F83J0-V0-00 235mm taller than the stock NIKEN windscreen 60mm taller than stock NIKEN GT windscreen I'm sorry, but I don't see how 6cm is going to stop the buffeting; especially for the pillion rider. Then, Puig says that their touring screen is 300mm taller than the stock NIKEN windscreen. That means, without the visor, it'd be 6.5cm taller than the 3rd "tallest" option from Yamaha. So the Puig would be like 12.5cm taller than the stock GT screen if my calculations are correct. If the visor on the Puig is solid, and I suspect the drilled visor is the better option, it allegedly gives you yet another 9-10cm of height depending on which size fits on the Puig touring screen for the Niken. Now we're talking about up to 22.5cm of extra height and that's not even lateral protection. I'd have to imagine that this would be amongst the most coverage. The question is if it makes the Niken look ridiculous? I don't feel like the visors are aesthetically pleasing, but at 75mph the buffeting on the stock Niken GT screen was insane compared to the stock touring screen on my Vulcan. God help the pillion rider at highway speeds with the stock GT screen.
  6. THIS is the lighting setup I need. Did you contact them? Where did you find that?
  7. This is interesting a very useful information, Maxim...thank you! I'd heard of power distribution systems, but didn't know about the Arboreal Systems Aurora Plus; that seems like quite an elaborate piece of kit. I actually went ahead and sprang for the Yamaha Comfort Heated Seats today since my bike is still brand new and I suspect I can resell the Yamaha Comfort Seats without the heat. That being said, this idea would be great for powering the heated gear of a second rider who is a bit more temperature sensitive. I'm actually curious now if you've done anything for adding a tablet + CarPlay or if there's a RAM mount or other mount you like for mobile devices? I was considering the Garmin Zumo XT and pairing it with the Yamaha OEM GPS Mount. I suppose part of me is convinced that if Yamaha went through the trouble of designing a GPS mount for the Niken, it's probably decently made. The other part of me, however, is addicted to Waze and I like the idea of running that or Rever on a hacked together tablet with a CarPlay dongle. I'm just not confident where a tablet would be best mounted or if I can somehow get away with mounting it to the Yamaha mount. Anyone have thoughts on that?
  8. It's a pleasure to meet you all! I'm celebrating my new Niken GT with a couple of quirky finds/questions. The GT adds the comfort passenger seats, but without the heat that you get if the comfort seats are purchased separately. Is the wiring in there somewhere or can it be added by just purchasing certain elements of the heated comfort seat (wiring/control)? Also, the site and marketing material seems to indicate that the GT comes with a "Security Alarm". Leafing through the manual and just searching the bike itself, I see no evidence that it's actually included. Am I missing something or was it false advertising for the US market? Interestingly enough, if you look at the "Electrical 2" diagram for the US vs EU model, there are 2 extra parts for the latter; one of which is an immobilizer.
