Supporting Member dazzler24 Posted May 21, 2021 Supporting Member Share Posted May 21, 2021 There have been several threads within the hallowed halls of this forum where it has become apparent that one tyre type ridden by person A can wear out twice - or more! - as fast as person B and it can be somewhat of a mystery as to why that might be given that all things (outwardly) are equal. Have a look at this Dave Moss video for some professional insight that, almost as a by-product, might help to explain one of the reasons why this might be. This may not be a revelation for some but as mentioned, there have been many posts on the subject with no real answers. At the very least it's an interesting 'educational' video for us biking types from someone who is respected in the biking world. 🙂
nhchris
I find it interesting that he just assumes the same pressure is run front and rear. 1968 Triumph Bonneville 650 1971 Norton Commando Roadster 2002 Harley 1200 Sportster 2003 Honda ST 1300 2016 FJ

I wondered about that as well but found this question and answer(from the author) out of the comments in the same video: -   Q. "Good INFO ! I was also waiting on some info on front/ back tire pressure. I have less pressure in front. Is that the norm ? Do you ride same pressure front/ back all the time ? Thanks" A. "Dave Moss Tuning  11 months ago The norm is what you let it be. Try putting the pressures to the same number and see how the bike brakes and turns. If is better, the test was worth your time and therefore in a crisis, the front will provide better support."
