Woolich ECU flash options

Recommended Posts

I'm getting a ECU flash done.

I've done my research and have settled on a Dutch tuner with a great reputation that uses Woolich software (which is supposed to be the best).

I'm looking for smoother throttle control and am less interested in lifting the top speed limits or even adding HP. There are a lot of options in the flash so I figured I'd check with the community if there are any specific options that you would recommend to change, wished you had changed or the reverse; things you wished you had left alone.

Features available for Yamaha MT-09 Tracer GT 2018-2020

  • IAP Fuel Maps
  • TPS Fuel Maps
  • Ignition Timing Maps
  • Ignition Dwell Map/s
  • Electronic Throttle Valve (ETV) Maps
  • Coolant Temp Idle Compensation
  • Adjust RPM Limiter
  • Adjust Fan Temperature
  • Disable Stock O2 Sensor
  • Disable Deceleration Fuel Cut
  • Disable PAIR Valve / AIS
  • Disable Top Speed Limiter
  • Engine Data - View Live Engine Data
  • Woolich Racing AutoTune - (Requires Applicable LogBox + Zeitronix Package)

I'm aware that most people just let the tuner do their thing, so if there are no tips, that's what I'll do.

I would like to be able to activate the cruise control at any speed, also low ones. It's great to roll around a parking lot and focus an dipping deep and turning sharp at a set speed without having to hold the throttle. The tuner does not have it in his standard flash and wasn't sure if it could be done. If anyone has this in a Woolich flash please let me know so I can confirm that it is possible.

I have been in direct contact with Woolich and they say the cruise control mod can't be done. Bummer.

We don't expose any sort of maps related to the cruise control, so it would not be possible for a Woolich tuner to adjust such a thing.

One major reason we don't add these maps is that it can become a liability and safety-related risk to include cruise control maps.

The development process would also be lengthened if we were to add cruise control maps.

I know Ivan's flash does this though but he uses his own software I guess.

  • Adjust Fan Temperature

A mod that all tunes offer but I don't understand it. Can anyone school me why Yamaha sets a higher temperature than we want? Or why do we want it lower?

As it is with the stock setting (105 ℃) I'm usually the only one with the fan on during courses (between Ducatis and BMW's) so setting the temp lower will make it start even sooner which does not sound like a good thing. I did just change the coolant yesterday though so maybe the engine will run cooler now.
