edgarjessop12
Hi Guys, My 2018 UK Tracer 900 GT has just started " Spluttering " it is not bad petrol as I have refueled 3 times with Super Unleaded from 3 different Petrol Stations. It is only very slight and only at fixed speeds, twist the throttle and it accelerates clean and fast, cruise and it splutters. It has also cut out just a couple of times for a split second when riding off when the engine is cold. Has anyone else had this problem ? Cheers Edgar Jessop
Premium Member 1moreroad Posted September 3, 2021 Premium Member Share Posted September 3, 2021 Sounds like the carbs need cleaning. (yeah, not helpful, but man does this sounds exactly like the problem I have with my old hand me down leaf blower)

peteinpa
Didn't you guys just start the pleasures of ethanol over there??
Skidood
If it was just sputtering and not spluttering, I would have said clean the throttle bodies .....but since its actually spluttering, I'm drawing a blank. ☺️

Our standard fuel is going to 10% ethanol, but Super is staying at the 5% it’s been for a long time so that shouldn’t be the problem. I would check the standard service items like air filter and plugs. Red 2015 Tracer, UK spec (well, it was until I started messing with it...)
