Cruise control for the FJ-09

Hello all, I haven't even purchased a FJ yet so am I allowed to chime in?  ;-)

niz posted a pic of the 'go cruise', which I put on my NT700 mid way through an Audiovox CC-100 install in order to take a trip.  It worked well enough that I abandoned the cruise control project (although it probably had just as much to do with the difficulty of fabricating a puller on the TB housing in the confined space).

I was the 1st person to put the Audiovox on a touring rigged V65 Sabre and also put it on my ST1100.  It worked well on both bikes for many years so it can be done, just make sure you FULLY waterproof the control panel.

I've heard good things about the Rostra also, but I REALLY look forward to mccruisin's results.

I have a mechanical cruise control on my bike. It works pretty well, of course the bike slows up hills and speeds up down them but it was inexpensive and worth the money. Here's where I got mine: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/72892/i/the-cycle-guys-inc-go-cruise-throttle-assist?SiteID=SLI|Cruise%20Control&WT.MC_ID=10010

Hey Niz, thanks for the post. Does the cruise control grip OK on the OEM grips and without the 'rubber ring' provided. Cheers

I just yesterday received the next next version. More $$, but adjustable and very well made:

So far I've only tested it in the garage, seems to work on both the FJ-09 and KTM 690.

FJ-09, 690 Enduro R.
Back Roads. Period.

I bought this one a couple of weeks ago:

Works great. It's CNCed aluminum, not plastic; I've broken a couple of plastic throttle locks in the past so I'm not a fan of the material. Tension is easily adjusted with the wheel and the wheel is locked in place with a retainer spring so it won't vibrate loose.

I didn't bother to put on the little rubber ring, I just clamped it right to the throttle grip and went a-riding.

I would still rather have a Throttle Meister, but I can't see that happening without losing the hand guards. This is next best, and quite a lot cheaper.

Same here Jim. The Go Cruise 2 is perfect when you need to rest your throttle hand or have to cover some open highway miles. I do use the rubber ring however as I don't want to start wearing out a spot on the heated grips.

Have you tried one of these yet? I ordered one for the Speed Triple I'm picking up Friday. http://www.kaoko.com/pYAM650/KAOKO-Cruise-Control-for-YAMAHA-Tracer-MT09-and-FJ-09-2014-2015-both-with-OEM-hand-guards.aspx
Interesting design, too bad you will loose your bar end weight. The FJ needs all the help it can to reduce vibration. (4500-5000)
I would wager it weighs as much, if not more than the insubstantial bar end weight on the FJ. It's most likely the same bar end setup as used on the S10, the S10 users say that the Kaoko weighs more than the bar end

Kaoko has them but located in South Africa. I tried to order one direct from them but just got an email telling me I was refunded and they don't ship direct to USA. They referred my to their US distributor, Twisted throttle.com

Not currently in stock @ twistedthrottle but they have a bunch on order. 6-8 weeks for delivery.

Currently $135

Its not listed on the TT site but you can call and ask for Kaoko YAM650. Listed for MT09 tracer / FJ09 w/OEM hand guards. Should work but haven't seen one on the bike yet.
