colnagorider
2016 here. I lowered it. love that I am closer to the ground. and yes, it is a bit harder to put up but at 5'9 145 it really isn't a problem for me.
Slawnch
I lowered mine. It's a bit harder to get on the center stand. I decided to lower it after almost dropping it when coming to a stop now and again. It has helped me.
Mike A
Just use a small board or piece of plywood and ride or push the bike's back wheel on it leaving clearance for the center stand to contact the floor. This gives you more clearance for the center stand to work. A 1/2' piece of plywood makes a big difference in the ease of getting bikes on their centerstands. Try it. 2

Did this for years when wanting to use the centerstand. You can hide the board from sight if worried it doesn't look cool!
Supporting Member Heli ATP Posted July 30, 2022 Supporting Member Share Posted July 30, 2022 Got my side stand shortened after lowering the Niken. Played around with a few different pieces of board under the wheels until the side stand provided the best lean angle. 1.25" / 32mm seemed best so had the stand reduced in length by 1 1/4". Cut side stand and steel bar inserted inside for strength, weld and powder coat for $60. Very happy with it as the 'finger' had to be removed and welded back on also. A splash of paint on the foot plate and all is like new again.
stringman
I ended up putting the original dog bones on, handles like a bike now, not a boat
