Looking at buying a Yamaha again

Have a ZG1400 for 11 years and love it but is too heavy to take RVing

So after much looking I believe I found the bike, all new and light with nuts, the only thing is the seat Hight, my lady has her own Fat boy she is only 5'3' and 100 lbs. but handles the big bike fine except moving by hand in parking, but what I'm wondering is if the Yamaha can be lowered with out destroying the ride, Lowered my Concourse 14 once but changed back to stock because the rear tire stiffness, how do they feel passing big trucks on highway?

What I don't understand it the $5,000 difference between the MT9 and the Tracer ?

Just bags and windshield right? can bags and shield be attached to the MT9?

In the states the base level Tracer 9 isn't offered so you're comparing an MT-09 base spec to the Tracer 9 GT. The base Tracer 9 is only a few hundred more than the MT-09.

The T9GT also has electronic suspension, touring seat, heated grips, cruise control, cornering LEDs, hand guards, larger fuel tank (1.2 Gal larger), and a stronger sub frame with higher payload capacity.

The MT-09 SP is a better comparison to the Tracer 9 GT.

I lowered my 17 FJ09 and it rode fine. However I did not ride it aggressively so your experience may be different. I just lowered my Niken but won't get to ride and report till I return from vacation next week.

Worth noting that the only difference between the Tracer 9 and Tracer 9GT is suspension, grips and seat. + luggage i guess
You can quickly make a basemodel Tracer 9 into the GT spec in all ways except the suspension.  
Just wanna clear that up, your comment kinda makes it sound like the Tracer 9 does not have cruise control, coner LED's, hand guards etc.

In those countries that you can get the base T9 how much would it cost to upgrade it to GT knowing you can't get the electronic suspension?

 Is the electronic suspension that much better than three way adjustable manual suspension?

 I'm not convinced the Yamaha semi autonomous suspension is up to par with some other manufacturers

I have not ridden the Tracer 9 so I can't comment on the pro's or con's of its suspension but oddly the Tracer is the only Yamaha model with electronic suspension that is not adjustable beyond "Hard" and "Soft", every other model allows you to adjust it to your liking. 🤷‍♀️

I don't need or want electronic suspension, I would buy the SP MT-09 which is up  graded .

I would rather buy the MT-09SP and get a big windshield just want those bags and a big rear box, I'm 67 and don't care about looks, I don't have any Tattoos😂

Exactly my thoughts!

Sadly the time and money I've invested in my 15 means I'll stick with it for a while.  The IMU prompted bacon savers on the SP intrigue me.  But heck, my FJ is my first bike with FI let alone ABS, so I'm used to low - no tech...
