Stumbled across the Swiss Niken owners forum on Facebook and ran across  this warning from  fellow owner where their Niken's  rear license plate holder failed when the two screws  holding the license plate mount to the bike suffered fatigue failure and dropped off from the bike -presumably due to either overzealous screw tightening and/or noise/vehicle vibration. Perform an inspection to see if this is happening with your Niken.  A lost tag is a PITA no matter what country you're in.

@maximNikenGT - Is that the plate holder off your US spec bike?  The shape doesn’t look right for our plates, but I have no idea what sort of adapters or secondary plates might be on the bike.   

Is that entire thing held on by the two little screw hole tabs at the bottom of the picture?  If so, that does seem like a sketchy design…

The US plate holder is indeed metal, assuming the Swiss/EU versions of the Niken utilize a different plastic bracket due to the larger plate dimensions.
