JackD
I have read on this forum that the correct fork springs on the FJ-09 worked well without changing valving. I have a few sets of fork springs, one of which worked well for me on a 650 V-Strom. Before I go through the work to try and use them I would like to verify that they will actually fit. Can anybody please give me the length and outside diameter of the standard springs?

JackD
Thanks but those sites only list spring rate, no dimensions.
Supporting Member texscottyd Posted September 8, 2022 Supporting Member Share Posted September 8, 2022 I have the stock springs from my 2015 FJ out in the shop, and will be glad to take some quick measurements for you. I'll try and get out there and do it this afternoon...

But you can cross reference the Springs that you have to see if they work with with the FJ By the way whereas you may not need do not need to necessarily revalve the cartridges changing fork fluid weight and height is usually recommended. Personally I completely revealed my fork cartridges and changed fluid weight and level. An aftermarket shock also is highly recommended possibly more so than playing playing with the forks. whisperquiet
Here is the stock length. I would think the spring OD would likely be the same as a similar fork if the inside fork tube OD is the same??
JackD
Thanks, my springs are 336mm long and I don't think I can shorten and spacers by 30mm so it's time to order springs.
