Tail Tidy Fender Eliminator LED Indicators

Hello
I have a 2016 900 Tracer which I bought a few months ago. Bike is currently garaged until spring time and I fancied fitting led indicators and a tail tidy. Original plan was to modify the original tail tidy by cutting and reducing length of the steel bracket but I didn’t think it would look quite right so bought a chinese special tail tidy. In fact all the parts were from eBay and add up to just over £77. Links are below. Overall time taken was probably about 2.5hrs.

I did research this on the forum and hopefully others will find this helpful including the links.

Pictures hopefully speak for themselves. I don’t like bullet connectors so all the indicators were connected to the adaptor wiring with the correct connectors by soldering. The number plate light I ended up removing the connector from the original light and soldered it on to the new one. I wasn’t sure about the waterproof-ness of the indicators so filled them with silicone. Also on the rear I used heat shrink over the threads to help keep water out. The new relay was required as the flash rate wasn’t right with the original.

First couple of pictures show the original tail and I have still to order a slightly smaller plate to finish it all off.

Hello,
I have a 2022 900 GT in Brazil (a 2020 model for EU), with the beak, and I noticed your fog lights - do you have their reference, please? Don´t they get in the way of the fender when the suspension works?
I do appreciate your attention and help.

Regards

Lovely job there mate. Thanks for the links.

I would like to change the indicators on my 9gt. Not sure where the hell to start unbuttoning it though.

Appreciated.

It's quite easy to remove the front side panels. 3 x button head cap screws to remove using a 4mm allen key. I have taken pictures for you of the LH side. One screw just in front of your left knee, one on the front near to the radiator. The other is higher up at the front, nearer to the top of the fork. All are captive so no nuts to fall off etc. When all three are off the panel just pulls off.

Hi, not to sure about the lights as they were on the bike when i bought it. I don't even know the make but they don't seem to hit anything when in use. I have taken some pictures to try and show the bracket. Maybe someone else on the forum will know the make?

Hi,
Excelent, I do appreciate the pictures and mounting details. I will search for them, and if someone else in the forum has a clue, even better.
Very best regards!

Thank you for taking the time to post those images, appreciate it.

I owned a 900 tracer like yours a while back. I was able to remove body panels on that model to do some mods/work.

Unfortunately the 9gt is a totally different kettle of fish ( to me ). Hidden push pins used as fasteners. I'm not brave enough to start something I probably won't be able to finish. I'm hoping Haynes might produce a workshop manual for the model.

Thanks again for your trouble.
