Dave1963 Posted January 27, 2023 Share Posted January 27, 2023 (edited) Hello to all, I've just purchased a 900gt and am after some info please. 1st when using the quickshifter do you close the throttle .. 2nd if I didn't want to use the quickshifter is it OK just to ride the bike normally as in clutch and close throttle or do I have to shut the quickshifter off.. johnmark101 Posted January 28, 2023 Share Posted January 28, 2023 No need to ever turn off the quickshifter. Just ride the bike as normal. The quickshifter is for spirited riding and works best under rapid acceleration. Just open the throttle and shift up through the gears without closing the throttle or using the clutch. On your bike it is only for upshifts. You still need to use the clutch for downshifts. 1 There is nothing like spending a day riding with friends in the grip of a shared obsession. KrustyKush Posted January 28, 2023 Share Posted January 28, 2023 Lately my left hand is working at only maybe 20% capability due to flaring rheumatoid arthritis. It is really nice to be able to take some of that repetitive work away from the hand. Otherwise, I mainly QS when pulling hard onto the highway. Clutch shifting at 9krpm for me is awkward.
