Premium Member steveb Posted June 22, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted June 22, 2015 Hmmm... The link doesn't appear to be working for the Corbin FJ-09 seat link. Just go to the Corbin website and look under "New Stuff" then "New Products". When I checked, it was the first entry.
trench
I recorded a full video review of the seat this weekend. I rode 120 mi this weekend and the seat and I are getting more acquainted. It is breaking in and feeling better. The main thing I keep thinking is that this feels so solid. That is the bottom line, no pun intended. In my case, my family jewels get squashed by the stock seat. Does the Corbin fix that?
scldr2
Well done on the video. Thanks for posting! 8-)
rodan
Great video Trench! Thanks for posting that. I've always liked Corbins, and am considering one for the FJ, but I have a non-standard top box mount that I adapted off another bike, and I'm worried the Corbin will be too wide in the pillion seat. Could you do me a favor and take a measurement across the pillion part of the seat as indicated in this pic?
pixlox
can you tell me if I have the trunk and side bags from Yamaha, will the corbin seat without passenger backrest still fit? Thx. Mike
armyeod
Well I just ordered the Corbin. Now for the wait. LOL. Been there done that with Corbin. But worth it.
trench
[is it better than stock? Yes. I think so. It is still not perfect, but it is improving rapidly. I am far less sore after 50 mi.

Mike In the video I show the seat with the side hard bags. No interference. I don't have a trunk so can't tell you directly. If you want to tell me how to measure I'll do that for you. trench
Yes. I'll measure for you tonight. The seat fits laterally within the stock pillion handles.

rodan
Yes. I'll measure for you tonight. The seat fits laterally within the stock pillion handles. Thanks! My topcase mount is narrower than the stock grab handles, which I think is going to be a problem. The Corbin site gives a width for the 'passenger seating area', but it's tapered, so their number is not very useful without knowing specifically where it was taken.
