snowflake
I was a little concerned that the lower corners of the radiator look very vulnerable to damage in the event of even a low speed parking lot drop. So I decided to make some sliders. I chose black delrin for its ease of machining and relative toughness. I bought some industrial grade bushings and fasteners and bolted it all in place yesterday. Hopefully I never have to test these. Just a good piece of mind to have them there. Left: Mounting hardware installed: Grade 10.9 bolt clamps the hard bits together. The slider actually floats a little bit on the bushing. An o-ring installed behind it keeps it snug. I put a little never-seize on the bolt threads given its scewed into aluminum engine. OEM engine bolts, next to new slider hardware.
beberle
Looks great! I like the fact that the bushing is taking the compression and not the Delrin. Good beefy slider. Brian
