TracerNed
I have a 2021 Tracer 9GT. Like all CP3 engines from 2021 their were problems and recalls. Many bikes needed new TPS, throttle bodies, and other. My bike is back at the dealer because at 20,000 miles the engine has developed a stutter again. I have had issues every year. My question for this group is that after your bike was fixed, has it been OK? Or are you still having problems? I'm trying to figure out if I should keep it or get something else. When it's running right it's a blast to ride.
rodb47
I have a 17. Describe the stutter. Curious as to what it is.
TracerNed
Here is the note I gave to the Yamaha dealer. Bike has not been running right for over a month. When going down the road at constant speed the engine occasionally stutters, with and without the cruise control being used. I normally run between 4000 and 5000 rpm. At constant rpm or slight throttle increase, the engine stutters or coughs. When engine is cold it does not want to stay running. It is worse than normal. The check engine light just came on. Last year when I had a similar problem they replaced the battery. That seemed odd but the bike ran correctly for about a year. Now the initial scan by the dealer showed a TPS or ECU problem. They are tearing it down next week.
Supporting Member Kenny A. Posted July 28 Supporting Member Share Posted July 28 I have just clocked up 10,500 miles on my '21 9gt. I have had no issues at all with my bike. 🤞🤞 👍 2019 900 GT, 1969 Honda S90
Ride365
Hopefully the dealer gets it sorted and Suzuki floats the bill.....keep us updated.
TracerNed
I did purchase the YES Warranty so the repairs should be covered. Buying this warranty was a late decision after I had a few issues during the first year of ownership. And this is a Yamaha not a Suzuki. 😀 I did own two Wee-Stroms before this bike. Both were great bikes and neither had any problems.

Now its just a matter of them fixing it. ***2015 Candy Red FJ-09***
Premium Member 2and3cylinders Posted July 29 Premium Member Share Posted July 29 It's still a recurring PITA. My 15 only had the bar riser recall and the ACCT TSB twice, after the 2nd time I said fugit and just installed an APE MCCT (problem solved). Now I do think it has a good bad case of the Gronk, but I really don't hear (or feel) it with ear plugs in (and it is supposed to be a benign issue, correct? Brian, I can't recall, do, did you have it an if so, what have you done about it, if anything?), but otherwise my FJ has been peppy and reliable over my 63k miles so far of ownership.

TracerNed
UPDATE: The dealer checked my bike and found a few error codes including P2135. He replaced the TPS and synced the throttle bodies. He told me to ride it for a few hundred miles to see if the problem still existed. I had a 700 mile Wisconsin trip planned with a few friends. The bike ran great. The engine never stuttered. I called my dealer service tech and he was happy. He turned this into YES Warranty and said he would let me know. 1

Good to hear that the issue was corrected. There is a lot of talk of this on the MT09 forum as well, I am surprised that Yamaha didn't issue an official recall for the '21-'22 (maybe '23) models. 1 ***2015 Candy Red FJ-09***
