ilanr1
Hi , i see a lot of braided brake hoses kits that contain only the first pipe from the abs module to the first metal tube , but not a one tube from the abs module to the brake caliper or to the brake pump. Any thought why ?. As you all know this tube categorized as AN3 can stand up to 270 °C = 518 °F. Update what you think. Thanks Edited November 26 by ilanr1
Supporting Member texscottyd Posted November 26 Supporting Member Share Posted November 26 Hi @ilanr1 - The kits I’ve seen are all 5 line kits, which replaces all of the rubber brake hoses, and bypasses the stock metal tube portions that run inside the frame… the Galfer and Spiegler kits (and others, I’m sure) are designed this way. I’ve heard of other kits that retain the factory hard lines (7 braided hoses, I think?), but most of what has been posted suggests those are a lot of extra work to fit into the factory hard line junction fittings, and possibly not worth the extra effort. Maybe someone who has done a 7-line kit can elaborate? I’ve never seen just a single line offered, and can’t image why that would be offered by itself.
Premium Member 2and3cylinders Posted November 26 Premium Member Share Posted November 26 +1 for Speigler kit It goes from ABS pump to MC Just cut & remove left oem pipe, saves a lot of grief than trying to untrhread & reconnect oem connection !

Yes, I'm one of the 7 line installers and can attest to the fact that going that way made life way more difficult than it needed to be when fitting. 5 lines is the way IMHO. 1

ilanr1
Yes , i did a 7 brake hose replacement and it was hell... I will switch to a 5 brake hose version. The hoses are : 1 from abs to rear pump. 1 from abs to rear caliper. 1 from abs to front pump. 1 from abs to front left caliper. 1 from front left caliper to front right caliper. 5 hoses , no more. I can only reuse the front hose that goes from the front left caliper to the front right caliper... Edited November 27 by ilanr1

Used 7 and still got (the) craps! Anyway, aren't you supposed to win if you get a 7 or an 11? 2 hours ago, ilanr1 said: Yes , I did a 7 brake hose replacement and it was hell... Your description of installing a 7 line system is prophetic! Note the Brand name of my lines...... All jokes aside, while the install was a real PITA, the actual quality of the lines and the end result functionality can't be faulted. 1 1
