Mattf
I am going to replace the brake lines on my Tracer 900GT. Speigler or Galfer? Galfer is $100 more for the kit but if it's worth it I'll buy those. Edited December 26, 2024 by Mattf
Supporting Member texscottyd Posted December 26, 2024 Supporting Member Share Posted December 26, 2024 Hi @Mattf - I have the Galfer 5-line setup on my FJ, and they are really high quality. Fit is perfect, even though the install process (of any brand lines) on these bikes is a bit tedious. That said, I’ve heard great things about the Spiegler lines. For that kind of price differential, it would be hard to justify the up-charge for the Galfers.
Supporting Member piotrek Posted December 27, 2024 Supporting Member Share Posted December 27, 2024 I have the Galfer kit on the FJ... and if I were doing this again, I'd go Spiegler. Fitting harware was not as useful as it should have been IMO. I suspect the $100 means they're fundamentally different in some way... other than quality. Both are reputable brands. 🤔
Premium Member 2and3cylinders Posted December 27, 2024 Premium Member Share Posted December 27, 2024 Spiegler no question and eliminate the extra line and just jump over the fender to the other caliper with the short hose And if there's a steel line along the left frame instead of trying to undo it just cut it out a lot easier The instructions for the Spiegler are in color and very good and they come with a clamp for rotating the banjos in the orientation you need

johnmark101
Had Spiegler lines on my track bike and they were a perfect fit. Excellent quality. There is nothing like spending a day riding with friends in the grip of a shared obsession.
taylormade21
Both good brands. I've used Spiegler on my last 3 bikes including my current FJ-09 and have been very happy with fitment and function.
