pattonme
oh and Hyperpro and Wilbers are in EU and you might get decent pricing from them. Go for the 641-series. But seeing as how Nitron is UK-based it should be price competitive for lack of import duties and what not.
awork13
I know that most people are going to say spend the money on the correct shock, but has anyone tried to swap in the ZX6R shocks into the FJ? I am mostly concerned with the fitment difference between the FZ and the FJ. Thanks
pattonme
I don't believe there is that much difference dimension-wise between the two. But if you do this at least get it serviced and sprung/modded for the correct rate.

chamelion
Hi there, Looking to upgrade the rear suspension on my mt09 tracer (fj09) to compensate a little for the weight I need to carry and the fact I carry a pillion around 30% of the time. Rider: 240lb without gear (starting to lose weight, though no idea how much or whether that will last) Pillions: 120lb, 140lb and 155lb, depending on who is on the back (heaviest pillion also losing weight) Luggage: 85lb est (I don't think it would be any more) I require 1) Compression and rebound adjustment. I don't mind if it's high and low or high/low combined 2) Absolutely must have a remote preload adjuster as I'm constantly changing the load on my bike between just myself and pillion, then sometimes my panniers as well I'm a bit confused about the options available. Could I please bother you to narrow the list down for me with a price beside each? I would require shipping to australia. Cheers, Matt.
carey
Matt can probably add more information, but I'm only aware of remote preload on three shocks, Ohlins, Cogent and Nitron.
chamelion
I've received some information about the wilbers. Apparently a piece of plastic on the tracer gets in the way. I have a picture in a word doc that I had emailed to me. Does anyone have the Wilbers 641 on their tracer?
smifff
Not quite, I have the 640 with remote preload adjuster if that helps
chamelion
Yeah, the 640 fits fine. It's specifically the 641 that appears to have problems.
pattonme
Matris and Hyperpro both offer Remote Preload adjuster options.

pattonme
Can you throw me some prices please mate, on shocks that have compression and rebound adjustment as well as remote preload? http://fj-09.org/post/21517 should answer what you're looking for. Generally speaking a Remote Preload adds 170-200 to the base price.
BentAero
@pattonme You may want to update Ohlins pricing on the top post; all retail prices for Ohlins shocks, forks, and cartridges sold in the USA have dropped in price. New price for YA335 is $575. New price for YA535 is $1100. Keep Asheville weird!
pattonme
Thanks and fixed. Everyone selling Ohlins at a discount got our ears pinned so now everybody pays the same price no matter where you get it from. But if you read carefully...
