quicksilver
I just installed the Yamaha side cases. Very nice, all parts seem to be well engineered. After fully assembled I have pieces of clear plastic with adhesive cut in shapes that seem to be intended for use as protection. Any insight as to their proper placement would be appreciated. Guest captrob73
I also have the Yamaha side cases on my FJ, they were installed at the dealer before I purchase the bike, my local dealer likes accessorizing new bikes. In the cases are those clear stickers, still on the sheets. I asked the about them and got no answer. If you find out what there for PM me or post it in this thread. quicksilver
The clear protection were in the plastic bag containing the three lock key sets ( 2 for side cases and 1 for topcase ). As Yamaha does not recommend the side case- topcase combination, I decided this SKU is used for multiple products, not just the FJ. I'm guessing these other products can utilize the protective overlays but are not needed by the FJ.
sxx360
Yea, I've read that they're for the FJR so the cases don't scratch the paint
