fredogauvino
Hello all, I don't have/like/need a top box for my commute and day rides. However, in two weeks, I will be leaving on a trip for 3-4 days. This means that I will need more space for luggage. Or wash my underwear everyday. ;-| No way I am paying 1500$ for Yamaha small side bags. 8-) I was thinking of enlarging the rear seat so that it could accomodate a very large hockey-like bag. Doing so could also allow me to remove my leather coat on warmer days, and strap it behind me. This is my 1st prototype: The rack would only be required for this trip, so yes, it's wood. I'll paint it black, don't worry. Ill drill holes on the planks to use elastic cords. Tell me what you think !

Premium Member wessie Posted August 26, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted August 26, 2015 that looks awesome but I think the turquoise pinstripe needs to be a different colour This signature is left blank as the poster writes enough pretentious bollocks as it is. chris618
Can you just get some bungy straps or tie downs to secure the hockey bag to the seat without the rack? I have a set of ROC-straps that are heavy duty bungy stretch material that clip together and are adjustable in length. I would fear that rack would come loose or scratch the bike. fredogauvino
LOL all ! This is very funny. It is a good thing ridicule never killed anyone. Ok Ok I admit, this has to be the ugliest thing that I ever put on a bike. I woked up this morning, looked at it, and just started to laugh. BUT ! I am not over with this. Let me build another prototype, and soon you will want one too Yes, I could strap the bag on the bike without a rack. Yes, I could pay 200$+shipping+ $cdn conversion to get a nicer bag. But the rack gives more options to put lots of stuff that don't really fit nicely in bags. I'll be back... Now excuse me, I have to go feed the pigs, and finish my MoonShine batch ...
