Cut down the OEM windshield since it's raining and I'm bored.

Something just never sat right with the puig sport, personal preference. I'll probably paint the backside black at some point.

Comparison:

How much I cut:

How did you cut it I'm sure you use tape or something like that but what did you actually cut it with so the edge was clean and smooth and could be draw filed and wet sanded and flame polished

Inquiry minds want to know thanks

Die grinder with scotchlock, masking tape, and rotozip are the only tools required.

Thx but what type disc  (abrasive or cutting) and what rotozip bit?  No draw filing, wet sanding and flame polishing the cut edge?

Just a drywall bit. The OEM cut is simply sanded, there's no heat, polishing, or wet sanding required. Naturally a even feed from a machine would yeild better results but it's close enough from 4 inches away. Gasket remover on the die grinder.

OEM finish:

Toss in 5 mins worth of passes to get the feel on the die grinder for speed and angles required to match. Easy peasy. I could have probably spent more time on it take match 100% but I don't care enough.

Thanks!

I'm an old Convair T&D guy where we worked down to .0003 sometimes.  Hydrojet  cutting , draw filing, wet sanding in steps down to 800 or even 1200, then flame polishing with a slight oxy-acetalene carborizing flame.

Convair motto:  Only right is right.

Triple Reduncy and 5 step OC/QA, as with launches and take-offs you only have on shot at it.  After a few years it it then stays with you forever.  There was never any "Close enough for the girls we go out with!" there.  They train you like Pavlov's dogs to be ADD & OVD!

Still nice job and good to know.

Nice but please elaborate.

What Zero is that and how do you like it?

The Zero is a 2018 S with 13kWh battery and a level 2 “chargetank”. That’s actually what I’ve been riding the last year and half. It’s done okay as a commuter, but my commute recently changed from 20 miles round trip to 50. That is JUST within its freeway range; it uses almost 50% each way. So I’ve been charging at work and at home. But with the summer heat (Phoenix) it takes the bike about 5-6 hours to cool off in the evening enough to charge. No bueno.

So. I gave my FJ to my BIL a little while ago. It needed work, and as a recent returner to riding, the S1000R he picked up was intimidating him. So he fixed up the FJ and put a few miles on it. He’s been riding the S1000R more though, and I’ve been wanting to no deal with the Zero charging in the summer. So I got my FJ back 🙂

That’s an interesting comment, and something I hadn’t considered when looking at EVs.   Is there something that makes this unique to the Zero, or a more universal EV issue?

Pardon my ignorance, but I’m just starting to really dig into electric options (cars & bikes).

Definitely a Zero thing. They have so far refused to implement a liquid cooling system, it’s entirely air cooled. There’s a tiny fan in the chargetank, but it doesn’t do much. Reduces maintenance, but living here makes it a pain. Energica has liquid cooling system, and if/when I get another electric, that’s what I’ll be looking for.

The Arrow platform developed for the live wire Delmar can be configured air or liquid cooled but I believe the Del Mar as well as the live wire one are air cool at this time.

It also didn't dawn on me that the  0 had that issue.

It seems like it would be a good cold weather bike up here in the great lakes region

Turn on the lights to heat up the battery and then zoom with studded tires maybe A new ice racing class could be pretty cool.  But if they lighten the batteries the races are short and you could have modular Swaps

No I'm still a fusion guy we started working on fusion in the early seventies to create a containment donut super cold reactor Big enough to power a city.

They just couldn't maintain the reaction it wasn't the containment that was the problem. I was just a containment guy

Honda and others have hydrogen fusion and I don't understand why with everything being thrown at batteries, If just 10% one could be thrown in fusion.   It's the fueling stations that have been the problem really just Fuel cell exchange but it's similar to what they've been able to do with liquified natural gas.  And they've only thrown 1% over the last 25 years.

Given what they want to do in England, what 35?!

 That's insane for motorcycles

I ordered one last Sunday and received it Thursday. I received this email on Friday:

Good afternoon,

It has come to our attention that there is a design flaw in our new Tracer9 Hugger – 072453M/072453R.

This is causing some models to break on the rearmost mounting point, on the chain side of the bike.

We have already designed a new bracket to solve this issue and will be ready to supply it within 2/4 weeks.

Please remove the product from your bike as soon as possible to prevent any potential damage – we will supply the additional bracket direct to you as soon as stock arrives.

Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused, we are working as fast as we can to rectify this issue.

Thank you for choosing Pyramid.

Best regards,

Adam
