I’ve been eyeing a Suzuki GSX-S 1000 GX+ since it was introduced last year, and I finally got a test ride when Suzuki’s demo fleet came through town. I rode the entire GSX 1K range: GSX-R1000, GSX-S1000S, GSX-S1000GT+, and GSX-S1000GX+. All great bikes, but as I expected, it was the GX that really won me over. So, with a deal that was just too good to pass up, there’s now a new sport-tourer in my garage. 300 miles yesterday has me 100% convinced it’s the right bike for me now. I still have the FJ, and I will definitely ride it a few more times before putting it up for sale, but the wheels are in motion for it to find a new home. I’m excited, but also a little bit sad. 8+ years with the FJ, and I’ve enjoyed every mile with it… OH my goodness, Congrats Tex!! That is a thing of beauty, same GSXR motor tuned differently?? Looks so clean. Well, just know your presence here in the forums has helped me 10-fold in getting my '15 FJ all fixed up how I'd like. After putting 1000 miles on it already (clutch fix is holding up!) and the removal of the handguards/bar risers, other small adjustments... everyone was right! The front forks are driving me nuts (maybe less so than a fully stock FJ.. the rear upgrade done by the PO could be helping things out) and so I think Nitron, Race Tech, or Traxxion fork upgrades are in my future. With the constant addition and removal of my fiancée + daytrip luggage, I will likely get full adjustability... rear too.. it won't be cheap, and I'm kinda clueless lol. I may have to take a ride out to the suspension shop you did yours at... I can't find a decent place in DFW for the life of me.. New Michelin road 5 tires and a GPR steering stabilizer are also on the way!! Sorry, so distracted lol. I hope you will drop in on occasion -regardless with what happens to your big red- and say hey to everyone!! Best of luck with the sale and ride safe! You've been a bit of an institution around here Tex for a very long time and your input will be sorely missed - but I totally understand your reasons for moving on. As a couple of others have said, I too would be very interested in your feedback regarding the new steed and in particular the direct comparisons with the FJ. Congrats on the new beast. Looks sharp. 1

Supporting Member piotrek Posted November 22 Supporting Member Share Posted November 22 The weather is turning south next week. Took the bike out for a soggy warm-up run, changed the oil + filter, and washed it. It's TLC and maintenance time until Spring. This month marks 10 years since the FJ rolled off the assembly line. Adoption papers signed in March 2016. 1 1
OZVFR
Other end of the spectrum here, it's still November and we've been hitting 37°C (98°F). I used to hate winter and love summer, now in my 60's and I have definitely flipped. Then again, my kids say that I complain about everything now. Hey, I've paid my taxes!!! ...and in related news, I bought myself a second hand McCruise. Looking forward to installing it this Xmas while doing the valves. Supporting Member dazzler24 Posted November 29 Supporting Member Share Posted November 29 Weather too good to stay at home today, 25° C in my area of the upside down part of the world. Nothing like the combination of good coffee, a tasty warmed blueberry muffin, some twisty mountain roadway and a little bit of sweet induction roar to make the heart full. No complaints. 1

Yes @knyte it was, despite a couple of showers that tried to rain on my parade ride. But I had to get my ride/fix in as this ↓ is now here and is expected to hang around for a week or so. ⛈️
