slt
It was 80 degrees when I left the house, closer to 30 degrees at the top. That road is killer, super skinny, no guardrails, and 1,000 ft dropoffs on the side of the road. Awesome view at the top though https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_WWHzCmd8ZxOUJ3bUM5cjhCOTg/view?pli=1 Created by Google My Tracks on Android Name: Mt Evans Activity type: driving Description: - Total distance: 121.63 km (75.6 mi) Total time: 3:27:38 Moving time: 2:52:04 Average speed: 35.15 km/h (21.8 mi/h) Average moving speed: 42.41 km/h (26.4 mi/h) Max speed: 87.98 km/h (54.7 mi/h) Max elevation: 4294 m (14090 ft) Min elevation: 1730 m (5676 ft) Elevation gain: 2930 m (9613 ft) Max grade: 76 % Min grade: -86 % Recorded: 8/29/2015 10:28 PM
Premium Member wessie Posted August 30, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted August 30, 2015 That road looks lovely, nice and wide and relatively flat hairpin bends. Just be glad it wasn't built by Italians with 1:3 corners with a cobble stone surface... This signature is left blank as the poster writes enough pretentious bollocks as it is. slt
how did the bike perform at such altitudes? It seemed perfectly fine, although I was poking along in 1st and 2nd gear the whole way up to keep from driving off the side of the road.
Premium Member exploring/carolina Posted October 4, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted October 4, 2015 Appreciate the report!!!!!!!!!!!!! We visited Beartooth Pass MT/WY over 10,900 feet at the end of August and it was the highest for us, so far. Will put Mount Evans on our must see list!
