ed
Anyone thought of or actually changed over to braided radiator and/or water pump lines? It sure would look nice and functional. Thanks for your input.

Supporting Member texscottyd Posted September 11, 2017 Supporting Member Share Posted September 11, 2017 Resurrecting an old thread here. After giving the FJ a much-needed cleaning today, it really stood out how unattractive the stock radiator and water pump hoses are relative to the rest of the bike. Has anyone come up with an option for braided stainless steel or something similar? I have a guy that makes very nice custom braided steel brake lines for me, so I may check with him about doing something a bit more complex. Never having considered these parts before, I'm inclined to agree! Three (3) hoses, right? I wonder if he'd be prepared to make and ship kits for our FJ/ MT-09s to other members here. It would be nice to get something customised for us. Maybe you might ask him - thank you. Riding a fully-farkled 2019 MT-09 Tracer 900 GT from my bayside home in South East Queensland, Australia. Supporting Member texscottyd Posted September 11, 2017 Supporting Member Share Posted September 11, 2017 https://m.summitracing.com/search/part-type/hose-covers Interesting. Do you have any experience using these hose sleeving kits? My preference would be to use 'real' hoses & clamps, but this might be a simple way to clean up the visuals... Not really...I see em on ppl cars/trucks at events to dress up the engine bay... now if the FJ-09 had AN fittings on the pump and radiator I would have made some long ago with the cut off scrap from work... 2012 wr250f - C-class 30+ age group 2015 fz-07- Hordpower Edition-80whp 2015 fj-09- Graves Exhaust w/Woolich tune by 2WDW @120whp
adjuster
The best radiator hose setup I've seen yet is flex stainless steel "hose" that you have short sections of silicone hose to connect at the fittings. This results in a nice hard line that you can custom bend, and since it's ribbed, they also act as additonal radiators out in the air flow, radiating heat into the air the passes over them, while standard rubber/fabric reinforced hoses insulate the coolant from transfer of much heat to the air flowing over/around them. The trick is finding the right size, and heater hose might work. It's about the same size. Here, knock yourselves out. You can even get these in black, red, blue and other colors, chrome or brushed stainless steel I used these on my Supra and they work AWESOME. Never failed me, and were pretty nice looking too. They would look cool on a bike, in black, or matching the color of the bike, like Red in my case for my Faster Red FJ09. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xstainless+steel+heater+hose+kit.TRS0&_nkw=stainless+steel+heater+hose+kit&_sacat=
