thumper
Hi all. I currently own a Triumph Tiger 1050. Although I love it, it's a big beast for a small guy like me so I'm very interested to see if the FJ will be a sort of compact version with less weight and bulk but comparable comfort and performance. The Tiger's a hard act to follow but the FJ may be just what I need. FJ is apparently a bit taller than FZ so I may want to lower it a tad but aside from that it looks really promising. Cruizin
I have taken my FZ-09 on some dirtroads and it did ok because it is so light. The FJ-09 will have better suspension but still end up pretty damn light. thumper
Evidently FZ & FJ share same suspension. http://www.yamaha-motor.ca/products/compare.php?model=4565&group=MC&catId=79 Certainly looks that way. With the FJ's extra 50 pounds, maybe instead of upgrading shock to that of a ZX6RR, we can use one from Hayabusa. In my case the FJ will also be getting luggage and mounting hardware. D'ya think the 'busa shock will be too much? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjHPsvPWK5eycHNfdmNremNfVjFCRmN5a3VsOXo4Qnc#gid=
407guy
What makes it a "big beast"? The seat height?
gabefzr6
My Tiger 1050 has always felt a bit heavy to me, especially up high. I notice it when lifting it from the side stand and pushing it around the garage. It looks like the FJ09 will be about 40 lb. lighter than a stock Tiger 1050. 2008 Street Triple G 2015 FJ-
