redfjniner
Yeah, im the FJR-is-naked-sans-boxes category. It just looked like a weird sportbike without. With the bags on its like "hey im haulin' WHILE im haulin'..." oh and you cant stop me I think the red FJ looks to good to put those big ugly bags on it. Now get the grey FJ and add some engine guards and driving lights, a water cooler, multiple gps, radar detector, radio and a fuel cell and those bags will look okay. But not on the red one. jamesford
I have a pair of GIVI Trekker Outbacks which I use on my Tiger 800. I emailed GIVI recently to ask whether they would be building mounting racks for the FJ-09 and these panniers and they said they are definitely going to do it. Probably by mid-April for those who may be interested.

zepp
A doubt Are compatible all FJR cases or only after a concrete year?
grogsym
A doubt Are compatible all FJR cases or only after a concrete year? All FJR bags are compatible however you also need the lower mounting brackets.
motomachines
Check out the Hepco & Becker options!: http://www.motomachines.com/Hard-Luggage_c_13.html Sizes range between 30 liter capacity to 55 liter capacity. Any top cases over 50 liters are big enough to fit two full face helmets. Side cases 40 liters and over will fit most full face helmets. Any of the Hepco & Becker cases would fit onto these carriers: http://www.motomachines.com/Hepco-Becker-Lock-it-Side-Carrier-for-Yamaha-FJ-09_p_5225.html http://www.motomachines.com

Look good and have a great reputation if you have deep pockets. The ironmongery alone is £200 before you look at cases. korben
EDIT: I really should have read the thread before asking this question.... I used to moderate a forum. I hate it when people do this!! Just a quick question... I was having a look at the FJR side cases last night, but it appears there are different versions depending on the year of manufacture of the cases. Do any year fit the FJ, or does it need to be a specific year? Thanks in advance!
Premium Member builderbob Posted April 2, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted April 2, 2015 I went for the Shad side cases. Like another member opined, not thrilled with the brackets, which aren't intended to be removed, but they look like a great alternative to the OEM units. I have the matte gray color bike, so I ordered the bags with the carbon fiber inserts. Should look well integrated on my bike.

yamahafjrider
I ordered the Yamaha FJ hard bags because of there size and the option of the FJR lids. Finding a set of used lids and having both large and smaller bags appeals to me. My bike is grey, if I had red that might have changed things. Premium Member wessie Posted April 4, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted April 4, 2015 I finally made my mind up. Ruled out some on cost (Givi Trekker & H&B Xtreme). Ruled out the Shad as the bracketry for the FJ is naff. I finally went for a pair of Kappa K40 cases. I show my working with links to a number of options for UK residents here: http://fj-09.org/thread/888/pannier-options-uk-market - the Italian vendor ships to the US so I have included links in the thread. Kappa is part of Givi, not well known in the USA apparently, but the fitting mounts are identical to the Givi Monokey system so the cases are interchangeable. Review to follow once they are fitted.
