mardak
I bought a set for my old FZ1 off of Ebay, they fit and worked well, but the anodizing was crap. The black anodizing faded to a bronze finish within a year. A friend said something about them not using a UV resistant anodizing. Anyone recommend a set that has hasn't faded quickly? At under $40/set I guess I could just buy a new set every year, but that would be betraying my Dutch heritage. Guest bobh380
Here are a couple of threads discussing levers. http://fj-09.org/thread/1858/new-clutch-brake-levers http://fj-09.org/thread/155/adjustable-levers I want to get some too so will have a good read and then decide. mardak
Thanks for the links. The set I bought for my FZ1 from a Chinese seller on Ebay were actually very nicely made, and around $35 for the pair - shipped. My machinist friend shook his head in disbelief when I told him what I paid. My only complaint was that they faded to a bronze colour within a year. Other than the anodizing quality, I see no reason to pay $200+ for a brand name set. I stripped my old ones of the non aluminum bits (being careful not to lose the tiny springs/balls upon disassembly), and had my friend send them off to his anodizer with a batch of his stuff (free!). I'll report back how they look when I get back from vacation in April. If they turn out nice I will probably do the same with a new set for the FJ before I install them on the bike. $20/pr, shipped! - http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Yamaha-FJ-09-MT-09-Tracer-2015-2016-Brake-Clutch-Levers-adjust-one-Pair-/111860432235?fits=Model%3AFJ09&var=&hash=item1a0b66bd6b:m:moZ74Umr8lTLh1CBlPt9pUA&vxp=mtr $24/pr, shipped - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Short-Clutch-Brake-Levers-For-Yamaha-FJ09-MT09-Tracer-2015-16-Black-CNC-Adjust-/262070180625?fits=Model%3AFJ09&hash=item3d04999b11:g:e0oAAOSwQTVWCgGa&vxp=mtr $47/pr, shipped (with FJ-09 labelling) - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Short-Clutch-Brake-Levers-For-Yamaha-FJ09-MT09-Tracer-2015-16-Black-CNC-Adjust-/262070180625?fits=Model%3AFJ09&hash=item3d04999b11:g:e0oAAOSwQTVWCgGa&vxp=mtr Forum member 'docsimple' recommended these (same thread as 'vex' above): $25/pr, shipped - http://www.ebay.com/itm/301726340657?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&rmvSB=true Forum member 'vex' recommended these (http://fj-09.org/post/18693): $40/pr, shipped - http://www.ebay.com/itm/201369366043?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=500561562248&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I'm ordering the last set recommended by vex. toonbobo
The Ride It brand ones look nice @ $40. I ordered the cheaper AK for $22 and will see how they mount up later this month or next.
