tex929rr Posted March 7, 2016 Share Posted March 7, 2016 A couple of old friends flew in last we and we took them on their first visit to Big Bend NP. My wife and I have been traveling there since 1989 but this was Mike and Tina's first time. Mike and my wife and I were all 2 LT's together in the 80's. Mike and Michelle were T-38 instructors together; Mike later flew A-10's and is now a United 737 Captain and Michelle is a FedEx MD-11 Captain. Mike and I first started riding together about 1985 on his FJ1100 and my Nighthawk S. Anyway, we trailered three bikes to Ft Davis, TX. We rode the loop there, stayed overnight, and then Mike and Michelle rode through Presidio to Terlingua. I shlepped the trailer and truck down. We stayed there a couple of days and showed them around Terlingua and the park. The overlook on the way to MacDonald Observatory: Sunrise in Ft Davis On the road to Terlingua Visitor to our casita. Funny, though we live in Angleton, south of Houston, every where we went in Big Bend or Ft. Davis, Balmorhea, Terlingua or wherever, we ran into someone with a connection to our County. Me on the FJ, wife on her GSXR750, and a bunch of police officers on a mix - a Gold Wing, a Suoer Tenere, adneven a couple of those Can Am trikes. All nice people so we'll see how it goes.
