For the threads I just start at the last page and work backwards if I feel the need to see the most recent first (most threads aren't that many pages). It's not a big deal tbh, and a matter of preference, not really right n wrong I for one, won't be losing any sleep. This is not a big deal to me at all.. in fact I mainly use the "recent threads" and "recent posts" buttons to navigate the forum when I'm not looking for something specific.
