Making a great bike greater.

Recommended Posts

Hey all, picked up my FJ on 3/13/16 with 213 miles on the ODO.

I have a sick obsession with buying a new toy and modding it as quickly as possible.

Coming from an FZ-07, I knew I wanted something that was more comfortable on those longer rides, and instantly decided on an FJ.

After picking the bike up and riding it for 7.5 hours straight on the maiden voyage, it was apparent some customization was in order.

Mod list: Cruisin cruise control, Givi 2122ds screen, Puig clear clip on screen visor, RAM mount xgrip mounted at handlebar bolt, Givi crash bars, Rivco black anti-vibration highway pegs mounted on crash bars, FZ6 rubber pegs, Yamaha soft saddlebags, Yamaha rear rack, Woodcraft rear spools and axle slider, black shorty levers, hacked tail assembly to bring it up into the rear.

Future mods: KTM hand guards, Woodcraft front axle sliders, Two Brothers S1R exhaust, Lightech LED signals (front already purchased, waiting for install, rears needed), Motodynamics clear taillight, Yamaha heated grips, front and rear shock upgrades (research needed to decide on brand), radiator guard.

Photos to come after a good detailing.

I installed the Givi crash bars on mine.  It was very straight forward.  The only real challenge was the bolt running through the center stand.  It took a long screw driver and some finesse, but it came together nicely.  I really like the bars, they seem very substantial.  I would recommend them.
