surlyman
Need advice on a good rear shock replacement that will support a pillion passenger that is, shall we say, a little heavy. I don't really need anything with extensive adjustments, etc., just need a shock that can support a little extra weight. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Premium Member builderbob Posted May 11, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted May 11, 2016 You don't need a whole new shock if that's all you want it for. Upgrade the spring.
surlyman
As I am obviously not well versed in suspension upgrades, I did not know you could just upgrade the spring. Is that a DIY or something where I would need to remove the monoshock and send it to a vendor to have the spring replaced?
Premium Member builderbob Posted May 11, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted May 11, 2016 You can buy a proper spring online. If you are comfortable with removing the shock yourself, you can take it to a shop to have the spring installed (requires special tools).
