Premium Member keithu Posted July 4, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted July 4, 2016 Like many others, I found that my windshield mount allowed a lot of wiggling. This was exacerbated after I installed the barn door-esque V Stream touring shield. The right side seemed to wiggle most, so I removed the right side adjuster and found that the adjuster barely bites on the bracket. I added a washer to increase the adjuster's purchase on the bracket, and now it's about 4-5x more secure. Just one washer!
josh
I plan on doing that my self, did you use a plastic washer?
Premium Member effjay Posted July 5, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted July 5, 2016 My adjusters were pretty loose and I used two washers on each. The inner washer was rubber for better grip and the outer washer was nylon. It seems to have done the trick.
Premium Member keithu Posted July 6, 2016 Author Premium Member Share Posted July 6, 2016 I just used a single stainless washer. I thought about a rubber washer but was concerned that it would introduce some additional slop.
theskidave
I used a couple of split spring washers, seems to work!
Premium Member 2and3cylinders Posted August 17, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted August 17, 2016 are you inserting these washers behind the oem white nylon shoulder washers on the stubs on the movable mounting bracket that engages the fixed "carrier", or between the adjusting knob and movable mounting brackets? photos would be the best...
