Riding 2-up, how is it?

My previous bike was a drz400sm and that bike was my GF first experience riding. After a few rides she was loving it, and mentioned a bigger bike cause the drz was so uncomfortable after awhile. So picked up the FJ and took her on a little freeway trip and o man she loved it. So much more comfortable, but I found that there is almost to much room between us so I feel she is going to fly off. So on the return trip I wore the backpack we had and she felt much more comfortable, and she had the backpack to hold onto much tighter then she could me. I felt I didn't need to tell her to hold on tight anymore when we take off from lights.
