Premium Member keithu Posted July 25, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted July 25, 2016 I took a ride up Quartville Road in Oregon on Saturday. As locals know, this has long been a favorite single-lane goat path in the Cascades heading northeast from Sweet Home to OR-22 about 20 miles east of Detroit. This was my first time on Quartville in about ten years. Linn County closed dispersed camping along the road near Green Peter Reservoir, and all those people have simply moved farther up to road. I was still passing campsites 40 miles up the road. I strongly recommend against riding this road in the afternoon on a summer weekend as it is sure to be choked with drunk campers driving down to town for more beer. Once near the summit the campers and traffic clears up. The road surface is still rough and poorly maintained, but still a fun ride.
