What bike did you have previously, and why did you change?

@whitecrow NICE XS. Big XS fan myself, but no room in the budget for more than one bike so sold my '79 after I bought the FJ.

Phpaul, thanks man! Yea I'm going to be selling my XS as soon as I replace the fork seals, I don't see myself riding it much now that I got my FJ. The XS is super fun for around town but not much more than that.

My last bike before my FJ was a 2000 Triumph TT600. It's still the finest handling motorcycle I've ever ridden, and it was comfortable enough for 1000 mile days (when I was in my 30s):

My last bike was a 6 week old 2016 XSR900 which i bought a s a leftover and was hit in a parking lot and totaled. I just picked up a 2017 FJ09 leftover. I loved the XSR900 but felt kinda snake-bit about getting another. I think all of the Yamaha triples are extraordinary values. Before that I had a Ducati Scrambler which was cool but underwhelming performance and reliability.
