Sounds like he's not off the throttle fully when he depresses the clutch, hence the engine revs peak and you hear the "blip".
BBB
So, do double continuous lines in the middle of the road mean nothing? In the UK they mean no overtaking due to an upcoming hazard. hlmiskelly
That is what they mean in the US also and being caught passing a vehicle on a stretch of road so marked can result in an expensive reckless driving citation. 2015 Yamaha FJ-09 and 2018 Yamaha XSR700

In the US, they mean no passing (overtaking) because there isn't adequate sight line to make sure the oncoming lane is clear. I believe I'm correct in saying that it has the same force of law as No Passing signage. I KNOW I'm correct in stating that some people take a pretty relaxed attitude about it on motorcycles because you can whip by someone so quickly. If/when I get caught, I don't see The Officer accepting my logic however...

Either the outfit that makes that paint has a good lobby or these towns are hurting for revenue and figure they can write more tickets. crempel
I wondered how long it would take for the double yellow comments to come. Yup, it's illegal. Yup, I (allegedly) do it all the time. It's a calculated risk like every other part,of riding a motorcycle. I didn't buy this thing to follow a Winnebago down a twisty road. To each his own. We have enough thought police without turning on each other.

Guidelines are good! YMMV
Premium Member britelitebob Posted November 5, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted November 5, 2016 After watching your video I think those are some of the longest stretches of straight road that I've seen in double yellow, I could have passed an aircraft carrier on that road. I think those highway engineers have been out in the sun too long. BLB
