carey
I purchased a set of LED turn signals for my bike and had a question about installation. The Panel that the turn signal mounts to is held on by 3 screws. After removing the panel, there's another panel layer on the inside held on by 2 screws and several toothed retainer washers that look like this; Has anybody removed these retainer washers without destroying them? Any tips?
duhs10
I used a small flat head screwdriver to pry them off being careful not to bend them too bad... To replace them, I used a small socket (like 7mm or 8mm socket) to press them back on the plastic stem evenly. '15 FJ-09 w/ lots of extras... carey
Thanks. I wasn't confident that I could remove them without damaging them, so I googled the Yamaha part number. I found them for $0.54 each and ordered a few spares just in case.
redfjniner
....Has anybody removed these retainer washers without destroying them? Any tips?Use a utility knife to work them up around the perimeter (thin flat blade screwdriver will help too). You can reuse them. I used a 4mm or 5mm (size that fits snug onto the studs) socket to press them back on.Ditto. After crash, I was able to reuse a number of these, lock washers. I also bought three bags of six to make sure I had enough and now have a few left over. Ken, Candy Ass L.D.R.
