Picked my bike up today and it's everything I hoped for and more so far. I'm coming off a cruiser so seating position is taking a little getting used to (my legs instinctively reach forward for pegs). I've done my research on the bike but riding it is so much different, torque everywhere! and the sound.. oh man.. I did notice when up to speed the wind buffeting on my helmet was pretty substantial so I might get a larger windshield. I can't wait till the roads clear up some more so I can really open her up. For now, i'm just trying to get used to the new ergos.

Welcome aboard. You must be tall, cause I found the helmet buffeting to be minimal, but the helmet sound was loud at speed, so I upgraded to 6 inches taller. The windscreen, not my height. 8D

you may find you like it with the wind screen completely off the bike! Once it warms up do some experimenting and get back to us....

Sorry, not buffeting. I meant wind noise. Did you find the taller shield helped? If it did, did you get it from calsci or another place. Also how tall are you?

There is still wind noise, but it is reduced (6' tall with 32 inch inseam). Only really a problem with a cross wind, so not sure what would help that. I bought the tall Calsci and may look around for another when they become available. It fits the bill for now, looks nice, and is a quality product. It needs a reverse flip at the top though, that would make it perfect.

Welcome aboard from another NJ FJ-09 rider!

What helmet are you using? I have a Shoei Qwest, and it is pretty quiet. Then again, I am only 5'6", so the wind kinda passes over me.

I can't wait until this crappy winter weather is over so I can do some riding. I already have a 2,000 mile trip planned for May.

I think you'll find in time that the neutral seating position and higher saddle is very confidence inspiring.  Every time I think Im johnny-racer on a sportbike, I get onto an upright bike and ride it faster and more safely.    congrats on the bike and welcome to the site!!
