What jacket do you wear.

I bought a used 'Stitch RC "giant onesie" in the green/Grey that I usually wear for my ride to work, and on cooler days. I updated most of it's armor to 3DO. Also have a Transition III jacket in neon green, Klim waterproof overpants, and Firstgear mesh jacket and pants for hot days.

A red Warm-n-Safe heated liner w dual controller, along with their heated gloves makes for comfy rides when it's cold. Held "Steve" gloves are my go-to pair, but have several other pairs (rain, mesh) that are usually in the top box.

TCX X-Five boots are favorite boots; waterproof and comfy out of the box! And topped off with a Shoei Neotec lid in silver. Shopping for a new lid, love the Shoeis but I'm not paying $900 for a new one!

I picked up a simple Sedici Garda jacket while at Cycle Gear in Buffalo NY earlier today. I was looking for an inexpensive outer layer type jacket with CE level-2 protection, for use with my heated jacket or other under-layers in spring/fall. It's calling itself waterproof... I have my doubts 😁, but I think this might work well otherwise. No liners, so I can use whatever I need instead. We shall see how this works out.

Wash your new jacket in Nikwax wash-in waterproofing as per the manufactures directions and it will be waterproof.

I have been using Nikwax for 15-20 years and highly recommend it.

Thanks for the tip. I washed the lot last week in the Tech Wash and then treated it with the Wash-In. Hope this really works.

It really makes a difference, it is how/what supposed to do with Aerostich gear as well. I just washed my Darien light jacket last Friday, no need for the wash in repellent yet as mine is still good, running in the dryer or sitting out in the sun will activate/re-activate the water proof coating. Works awesome in conjunction with Gore-Tex, my jacket has proven to be 100% waterproof as have my AD1 pants......yes they have been fully tested. LOL

I have put about 1k miles on a new Klim Carlsbad jacket.  I like it very much.  I still have my trusty old Darien - the rugged, simple shell that has served me well.  The Carlsbad is less Spartan, but not fiddly like some jackets.  It has one advantage over the Darien, I can easily reach and operate all the vent zippers while wearing the jacket, even while riding.

I have a walk-in cedar closet full of gear. For all-weather use my ancient 2 piece Stitch still is hanging in there.  My Aerostitch Transit 2 suit is the bomb but only good up to 80 or so. I have a Revit that's supposed to be waterproof but isn't.  After my 3rd surgery in 7 months I gained enough weight that my good gear was a bit, uh, snug.

So I bought on Motorcyclegear.com a FG Rush Air Hiviz jacket & pants which fit me well and are amazing quality and featured for the $.  So I bought the FG Jaunt Hiviz jacket and pants set which also are PDG.  My only knock is they don't breath well if you're sweaty above 60°F, and the jacket below waist pockets use Velcro as do the sleeve cuffs.  Again, for a stop gap fitment you can't beat their functionality & $!

Hopefully I can loose the weight by spring (San Diego was a bust as I wait to board my United flight back to the Windy City) and sell both suits (or keep them in reserve).

I have the Transit 2 suit which used the original Gore-tex pro waterproof leather infused with mica to reflect heat and keep it 15 degrees cooler than normal leather.  I tested this claim side by side against a quality black race leather suit and the T2 was indeed 12 to 15 degrees cooler.  It also feels like your in Batman's suit with it's full compliment of Level 2 armor.

REV'IT Tracer Overshirt (I am dead serious, that's the name of it)

Alpinestars Halo Drystar (just got it, love it)

Alpinestars Andes V3 (2 year on it, it's fine but gets toasty and I despise the awful collar on it)

Scorpion leather track jacket (was on sale for cheap, first jacket I ever bought).

The Halo is becoming my favorite, I just need to get used to the offset main zipper, and the rest of the zipper placements. It's a heavy jacket but it's incredibly well built and extremely versatile.

Joe Rocket Ballistic (Facebook Marketplace FM)

Joe Rocket summer mesh FM

Really really nice leather jacket - really heavy leather, not harley, or racer type, just a plain black leather jacket (sadly no armour) that fits me well, and looks sharp FM
