For weeks now, our weather has been windy, rainy/snowy, low 30's temps.... just bleech!  😖

I admit riding though thick wildfire smoke was pretty gnarly, but right about now, the heat and dry sure look inviting in this July, 2021 photo at a Rest Area stop in central Nevada:

 

 

It will soon be the Solstice, then the countdown to summer... 👍

I hear ya', I'm on the wet side of the state and counting down the days until we get better weather. 

Winter doesn't even start until next week and I'm already waiting for it to be gone and forgotten for the year.

This down time gives me ample time to plan next years routes and coordinate vacation days off from work.

I recently bought a new Honda Accord Hybrid. When looking at the available colors, I was really smitten with the blue but wasn't sure what about the color that I liked so much. It wasn't until I got the car home that I figured it out. THEY'RE BOTH BLURPLE.

You can get "vinyl pinstripe" or "automotive pinstripe" tape on eBay in many different colors or widths.

I bought rim tape for my wheels and then emailed the seller and asked if he would sell me a sheet of 5mm x24" strips in the same matching color.

I wanted some silver highlights to add a bit of contrast on the black panels and side bags.

I picked up some scrap graphics paper from a local store and cut the stripes to size on a workbench.

And my new Tracer 9 GT

 

Sold my FJ09, tried a few different bikes (CB1000R, R1200GS, Versys) and came back to the FJ09/Tracer. Great bike.

Took a ride in the forest on gravel roads to test new tires . Bridgestone ax41s.  They work really well.
