Winter time weather complaining and off topic discussions

I've been riding my bike to work this winter (about a 40 minute ride) in temps as low as 18°F. With a heated jacket liner, heated grips and heated seat it's not bad. My biggest gripe is having to leave my face shield partially open to keep it from fogging up.

I've been doing the same thing until last week. Seattle has had snow and ice on the roads for over a week. And another big storm just arrived today which is supposed to last until mid next week. Not even sure I'll be able to get to work in my car on Monday.

Went for a walk by Niagara Falls last weekend.  It was sunny and hovering around 0°C but the wind coming down the Niagara River made it bearable for only a short time.

The Pacific Northwest has gotten hit pretty good with snow and sub-freezing temperatures lately, with more snow expected throughout the coming week.

This has given me ample idle time to plan and rework some routes for this summer.  Google Maps is working overtime!

I'm thinking of expanding the ride time in Colorado to not only include the San Juan Skyway Scenic Byway but now also the Continental Divide area including Loveland and Independence Passes, and maybe if scheduling works in our favor, a ride up Pikes Peak!

Neat!

I took the boat ride once, so cool. When you took your pic, literally LOL

It sucks here but at least we gain a minute a day till summer solstice!

No riding for me today, can't find the road........

Well I posted a picture on Friday afternoon, and it has continued to snow here in Seattle ever since. I am pretty much stuck at my house (with plenty of food and supplies)

Here is the original picture I posted on Friday:

Below is the same shot as the one above, but taken a few minutes ago:

And the back yard:

The snow is just under 3 feet deep, and covers my entire property.

I think it's time to move to Florida where the salt is in the air and not all over the road.

Unfortunately I live about a mile from the ocean........in Massachusetts so I have the salt air and the cold weather.

Fall finally over? I know you didn't have winter!

I rode on New Years Day, and the temperatures haven’t been a problem, but the grey, nasty, rainy days seem to have been non-stop.  I’m hoping this weekend’s sun is a sign of more good things to come.
