nhchris
Where do you guys get replacement clip-on wheel weights for the FJ blurple rims with the center ridge? Yamaha OEMs then at $7.50 USD per weight. Any other reliable and cheaper sources out there? kmev
I switched from wheel weights to Dyna-beads years ago. Much less hassle than balancing with lead, and you'll never lose a bead on the road. 1 ounce in front tires, 2 ounces in rear.

Out of curiosity have you ever seen a wheel with dyna beads run on a wheel balancer? Am curious to know if it would consider it balanced.

My only testing is about 50,000 miles at all sorts of speeds on a few different bikes and tires, and I never had any odd vibrations. I was skeptical at first, too, but they seem to be widely used in all sorts of applications. The only drawback is when changing tires - if they get on the floor they can be a mess. The positive is that I have reused beads between tires. I found that the filtered Schraeder valves (as recommended) do not work on motorcycles - they are too long and make the tire go flat. After I removed the filtered valves and went back to standard schraeders I have not had any problems.
chitown
I use motion pro stick on weights, balance a new-to-me rim once, tape with gaffers tape, and it's done. Doesn't get balanced again unless I go to a tire that still ships with heavy spots (my usual tires don't). Never an issue with balance or losing weights street or track. carey
I use stick on weights I bought at NAPA. They were a silver finish, but a shot of black paint and you don't see them. I have not lost a stick on weight.
