Supporting Member texscottyd Posted February 24, 2019 Supporting Member Share Posted February 24, 2019 The weather has been fairly bleak since the new year, but today was finally dry, sunny, and warm enough. I covered a couple hundred spirited miles, and was reminded again just how much I enjoy this motorcycle. I was also reminded of the strength and resilience of our local community. Much of the area I covered today was along the banks of the Brazos River, in areas that were simply devastated with the flooding from Hurricane Harvey. The signs of damage and ongoing struggles to rebuild are still painfully evident, but largely people have gathered themselves up and settled back into their routines. It still makes me proud to call Houston my home. A few photos from today:

Well... honestly, the jury is still out. They are great at higher speeds, and the bite & feedback is a huge improvement. But at slower speeds & in around-town riding, they have an odd lack of feeling... kind of ‘wooden’ at the lever. Hard to describe. More troubling, there is a noticeable pulse as it rolls to a stop, which feels suspiciously like a warped rotor. But since there’s no sign of vibration when on the brakes at triple-digit speeds (closed course, professional rider) I’m doubtful that’s actually the problem. I haven’t even bled the brakes yet, so I’m going to start there and see where this goes... So I would say I’m ‘cautiously optimistic’ but have a few details to sort out before giving the final thumbs up.

I thought about that, but it’s a different feeling than the ABS cycling. And it’s most noticeable at low speeds and light brake pressures. I’ll do some more investigating this week & see what I come up with.
