UK: meeting places & greasy spoons

If you have a favourite meeting place for flaunting your new Tracer in the UK, post the details below. Even better if they do a decent bacon bap, cob, sarnie, roll, buttie, piece 'n bacon or whatever it is called in that part of the UK.

To start, I can recommend Dom's Bike Stop near Leominster in Herefordshire. It's just off the roundabout where the A44 crosses the A49. Dom has his own farm so the bacon, sausages etc are excellent.

In the Lake District, my friends took me to the Filling Station Cafe in Keswick. Nice cakes and burgers.

If you are on the A40 west of Brecon then the cafe at Glanusk Services is good

The bus station cafe at Abagerveny, just before the roads get fun !! Im sure you know it wessie ?
I do know it well but as it was a mile from my house when I lived over there, I rarely stopped there! If I am riding back from the coast I usually stop at Glanusk as I would normally be with a friend from near Caerphilly so we stop for a drink and then take a different road home from Sennybridge.

My regular haunts are:

CMC's Clay Cross. http://www.cmcbikes.com/ A Yamaha dealership where I purchased my Tracer from... Great friendly staff, regular events throughout the summer, good parking and a cafe that serves good grub. Search for them on Facebook for more info.

Matlock Bath, Derbyshire. The biking Mecca of the UK. If you haven't experienced a Sunday on a hot summers day there be prepared for thousands of bikes. Great roads to and from. Watch out for Traffic Wardens though!!

The Ponderosa Cafe, just outside Llangollen in Wales on The Horseshoe Pass... Great welsh roads, views and a fantastic meeting spot. Food is good there and if you every fancy a couple of days in Wales they have a small B&B out the back. Clean and good security to store the bike.

The Cat & Fiddle Pub. Just outside Buxton, Derbyshire. Good food, and of course it's on the (In)famous Cat & Fiddle road. Average speed cameras throughout on that road, but the coffee, food and views are worth it.

Try bikers view if in derby area. Its up near Shirland and a good starting point if going up into the dales.  The concept of bikers view is great as well.  There is no price list  you pay what you think its worth and it all goes to charity (once they have finished building the lodge).

Just returned from a run down to Battle in East Sussex. Every biker in London seems to have had the same idea, there were literally hundreds. I turned around at the Route 1066 Cafe, they must have sold more fry-ups today than any other day in the year. Makes you realise what a diverse bunch bikers are. I did not see a single other Tracer. Massive Police and Emergency Services presence and with lots of mobile safety cameras, video cameras on white lines and electronic boards warning that "there is a Policeman on an unmarked bike riding behind you". Understandable, because some guys get carried away. But the congestion did spoil the ride for me somewhat. A group of women riders parked next to me, most of them on Triumphs and a Kawa ER6F. I really liked the look of the ER6F.

Seems Loomies in West Meon Hampshire survived when the owners gave notice to close due to nobody wanting to buy the business.

Apparently, it has been taken over by a bunch of locals. Good luck to them
