That's a beautiful area, I used to live in Knoxville and I've worked all over that area.

Being out here in the land of flat straight roads doesn't lend itself to quick fun rides. There is some fun rides to be had but I'm riding for hours to get to it.

I'll try to put something together later on.

@micah2074 - it looks like you have great riding right outside your doorstep.

This is a fun route nearby - Independence Valley / Spirit Lake Highway

I ride my loop several times a month.

Next time I'm in Washington im checking that out.

Mid-morning on a weekday,  there is almost zero traffic - including authorities... and I ride it accordingly! 😎

@micah2074, I need to try your route sometime. I always turn on the Reliance rd to do that loop.

Hwy 30 starts on 64. It's quite a nice part of the ride. Tight, curvy, and beautiful... like my wife.

We will be in that exact area in 3 weeks, we will be coming from Sonora going up Hwy 49.  We will be taking the detour at Mokelumne Hill out to West Point and back to Jackson.  Our plan is to start at Lake Tahoe and ride Monitor Pass and Sonora Pass, I'm hoping they have the snow cleared by mid-June.

Not sure how much snow was dumped in the last week or so. Crazy weather for us in May. Two of my favorite roads have been snowed in for a while. Wentworth Springs Rd and Emigrant Trail.

Last time I rode 26 it was closed between Mokelumne Hill and West Point. Some type of road work maybe a bridge. That was a month or so ago.

Mokelumne Hill down to Valley Springs is a nice 15 mile or so stretch and then cross over Pardee and Comanche and back up 88 to 49.

The most intimidating road that I know of in the area is Ward's Ferry. It's a good experience and pretty fun IMO.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I've told you that 7 times now.
