I am in the U.K. and would also like my E.C.U. Flashed. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Cheers Edgar Jessop.
RandyN
I have the Yoshimura Full race series with R-77 carbon muffler I got from 2 Wheel Dyno works and I'm very happy with it. Left the baffle insert in to keep it a little quiet. Sounds great and a noticeable power increase. About 11 BHP increase on dyno with Vcyclenut ECU flash. Reason I used Vcyclenut was he was local and I could drive there. He was very accommodating. Mission360
I really wouldn't be paying a premium just for the name on the pipe! I have just put an SP Engineering full system on for much less than half the price of an Akra and I can say it sounds sublime, especially when quickshifting! I had one on my Suzuki GSX S750 and it was enough to make me put one on the Tracer. Take a look. https://www.spengineering.co.uk/yamaha-mt09-tracer-900-15-19-round-carbon-outlet-diabolus-xls-carbon-fibre-exhaust-full-system.html. I appreciate there will be those that say with the Akra it's not just the name on the pipe, however it certainly isn''t triple the exhaust over the SP!

Have you got a pic of the exhaust fitted please? and does it fit ok with the centre stand? Edited July 5, 2019 by Dave76
Mission360
Yeah, sure. Fitted it last week. No issues with the centre stand. 1
rlambke19
Thanks for posting up another option @Mission360 Can't seem to find any pics of the header/down pipes on their website. What's build quality/fit & finish like on the headers? From the above picture it looks positive. Also - I didn't see an option for a -db killer or insert. I found the exhaust note a tad loud in the video on their website. (Edit: I found a note on their FAQ that "All our exhausts include a Hanging Strap with Rubber, Exhaust Clamps & a removable Baffle" Also: "Without the baffle fitted these cans produce a nice, deep, very throaty GP sound - They will not disappoint! With the baffle fitted the decibel level is bought down to an acceptable road & track day level (Please note Track Days are getting stricter & stricter, we've even heard stories that bikes with the original factory exhaust have be turned away, please check with the Track). The baffle takes around 10-15 decibels off. The DB level will vary with different bikes, modern bikes with a catalyst converter are far quieter than bikes without." Mission360
I tried it without the baffle and it was way too loud for my liking. With the baffle in though it really does sound amazing. No longer like a sewing machine Have a look at the pic of the downpipes. Probably doesn't show much but best I can do at the moment. They are much better than the OEM but like all pipes without protection, they take some keeping clean! If you want I can also sort a video out with it running, but can't do that until tomorrow. (also not sure if you can post on here). If not I can You Tube it and share the link. Cheers. 2

I'm not a huge fan of how boxy the Akro header is. More pics and a video would be grand! Rob

I would go with Graves or Yoshi if i was in the market now. Got my akro from a previous forum member for a good price so i went that direction. 1 '15 FJ-09 w/ lots of extras... For the exhaust I and a number of others on this board have fitted a Scorpion slip-on. Lovely piece of kit. It is homologated so will pass an MOT and delivers a lovely throaty sound. Scorpion also do a full system if you prefer. You can read about mine and others installs here: For ECU flash I would have to recommend S-TEC Performance in Newbury. Simon at S-TEC has specialised in tuning our CP3 engines and the results are fantastic. https://www.facebook.com/STecPerformance/ He offers a mail-in or ride-in service and also has a dyno if you want a bike specific tune. I recently had my Tracer flashed whilst on a trip to the UK and the results are fantastic. The bike is now so smooth with power everywhere. It's the bike Yamaha intended it to be before the envirocrats got their hands on it. Simon is really knowledgeable and humble with fantastic attention to detail. He noticed and adjusted little things like my clutch and throttle cable as part of the service. I can't recommend him enough. quetech
This article from BSD may be of interest Yamaha MT-09 Tracer ECU remap – a horrible mess as standard and properly transformed! - BSD Performance We rode this Tracer in standard form and it was horrible. It’s... Now before we start with the ECU remap we just want to say one thing; anybody buying a full Akrapavic system for one of these is wasting their money. With the baffle in it kills the bike dead, losing 30bhp. The bike was running poorly and massively rich so we stopped work to have a rethink. And what we found is a de-catted standard pipe gives the best results for minimum spend. Sent from my iPad
duhs10
I rode with my Akro (no cat) on for a couple weeks before getting my ECU flashed and I definitely did not lose 30hp... It was more powerful at the bottom and top and flat in the mid range. After ECU power is very linear across the RPMs. I did not use 2WDW but he has some dyno charts posted somewhere that show the gains. The Graves exhaust has produced the highest HP numbers. 1 '15 FJ-09 w/ lots of extras... Fayetteville, GA, USA
