Premium Member 3sum Posted July 20, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted July 20, 2019 Has anyone used this tool for setting the slack? I have a number of Motion Pro tools that are quality stuff but wonder about this one. I always seem to doubt myself when setting the slack on all of my bikes. Bimbim18
I have one. love it, makes measuring your actual slack way easier. I also use the Chain Monkey tool. Expensive but worth it. Essentially once you set it to create a set amount of slack, you put it on your chain, remove all the slack from the chain (The tool still maintains the pre-set slack), lock your chain adjusters/wheel and remove the tool. Voila, pre-set amount of slack is in place.
Premium Member DavidS Posted July 21, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted July 21, 2019 I bought it, but don't use it! It's much easier to put a tape measure on the floor and measure from the low point of the chain to the high point.
