Premium Member mikerbiker Posted July 31, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted July 31, 2019 Did a weekend 600 mile trip from NJ to Bennington VT July 20/21 and traversed Mt Greylock, in western Mass, 25 miles south of Vermont border. Heatwave put temps at 104°F on ground/roadway but 84°F at altitude of 3,400 feet. Not big but largest mountain in Massachusetts. They have a "Eye of Sauron" Iooking tower at top, in tribute to WW1 dead, I think. For those in northeast a worthwhile trip. If not crowded, the roads up and down from summit are worth doing multiple times. The north road is the best of the 2 ways down. Some pics!
Supporting Member piotrek Posted July 31, 2019 Supporting Member Share Posted July 31, 2019 Rode through VT, NH and ME just recently... but have not yet been to MA. The "Eye of Sauron" sounds like a nice place to hit on a future outing in that direction. Photos look great. Thanks for sharing.
