Givi tanklock bags

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm a fan of these, got a 15l tankbag and used quite a few times, been looking at the small 5l ones aswel, bits and bobs bag. How do they suit the tracer ? , as in, sitting on tank, view of clocks. They are great bags, on and off in seconds for fuel fills. Heavier stuff goes on back seat.

Cheers.

I have this one, which is 4 litres. It’s the perfect size for day trips. I have the rain cover, buff, emergency cash, visor cleaner, pen, paracetamol in the top zipped half. I threw away the sunglass tray as I have a tinted drop down visor. The lower half is plenty big enough for a light rain jacket, bottle of water and my phone. I have a USB-C cable that goes in through a cable entry point in the front right of the bag so I can charge my phone whilst riding.

As you say, easy on and very secure once fitted, and does not obscure the dash at all.

I use the Givi xs308, 20 litres, it has over 150k of use and has stood up well. I just snap it onto whatever bike I'm riding and have my essentials with me, a few pair of gloves, suspension adjusting tools, tire repair, ear plugs, extra glasses, kick stand foot, multimeter,  map, and room left to store my jacket liner. It is sturdy enough to lean down on if I want to tuck in behind the windshield.

I used the Kappa RA307 on my Tracer and continue to use it on other bikes - it is the same size and a similar design to the Givi XS308 shown above. Kappa & Givi have the same parent company.

This signature is left blank as the poster writes enough pretentious bollocks as it is.

I have been looking at the specifications of the  Givi EA123, (100x200x260)straight multiplication =5.2litres, MT505(190x280x220)straight multiplication a huge 11.7litres ! and ST602(170x290x240).

They are all  specified as 4or5 litres but the EA123 dimensions L W D are much smaller. It does appear to be a simple one compartment bag but the other two are dimensionally much bigger (see above).

Has anybody hands on compared them ??

The 3litre XS319 is specified as 210x210x150 which still seems huge compared to the simple EA123.

Got the givi ea123 today, looks lower to the tank,  if you know what I mean. Dimensions are 8 inch wide,  9 inch long, 4 inch deep. I got 2 cans of baked beans 410g and a 1kg bag of sugar in no probs. That fills it pretty much. So I would say, ideal for day rides, water, snack etc.. sorry no photos,  not clever enough.

Don't know why you guys insist on putting the ugliest tank bag possible on your bike. This one follows the lines of the tank and has decent storage for daily necessities. Looks great, easy to pop off for fuel, and nice storage. Had one for the past 4 years, and no regrets at all. Be sure and use the 110 tank ring though.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess - because that particular bag you linked looks ridiculous to me.

Ymmv,

Standing alone it might, but on the bike it is beauty. Will try to tag a pic of mine.

I think it looks good on the bike. follows the lines of the tank nicely. How do you like the tank lock system? I just took off my strapped tank bag due to the pain it was every time I needed to gas up. Now I am running a small magnetic day pack. However, I know it will not be sufficient for travel.

Tank lock releases with a tug of a lanyard on the front of the bag. It is very inconspicuous. The only caution is to make sure it is snapped on to the front of the bag before you re-mount it after a fill up. And the bag might need a firm push to get it locked in place. As you can see, my bike is a '15, and this was the first farkle for it. I love it!
