Premium Member 1moreroad Posted October 13, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted October 13, 2019 Watch for the rolled up length. As long as it's not longer than the bike width including the panniers, you're good.
Jdenkevitz
Or ditch the tent and go with a hammock/underquilt/tarp setup. Basically the same weight but much more comfortable. No worrying about level ground, rocks, rain run off etc. Just need 2 trees 😀. I have a nice ultrlight tarptent, but since getting a proper 12 foot hammock, never use it. If you want ultralight weight, check out cuben tents.
flyfifer
The problem with a hammock, particularly in Scotland, is finding two trees at the appropriate place, having nice sunny weather and keeping out the MIDGIES !!
jdavis
I have a 60ltr duffle bag that holds all my camping gear. Tent, cooker, personal gear, under blanket, ground sheet and a pile of other stuff, held on with 25mm ROK Straps. Works well for me.
